Comment-and-Follow Competition

If you're reading this blog and enjoying it, then I'd love for you to either join as a follower or simply post a little comment. Please don't feel shy: your comment doesn't have to be witty or funny or full of sparkling alliteration. It can be as simple as an idea or a suggestion or even an insight of your own. You can even say: "Janelle, I noticed you had a typo in a post back at the end of November." If you can't think of something to say, that's okay. Just join as a follower so I know you're reading.

Everyone who comments or follows goes into a competition to win a book. A gorgeous book. A book so fabulous you won't believe you've won it. Okay, so it's one of my books, so I can't guarantee it will be THAT fabulous. In fact, you can re-gift it if you like. It's Christmas, after all. You can even choose which book you want. I'll draw the winner late next week. And I'll send the book anywhere in the world.

Go on. Join the Library followers. You know you want to!
(PS Those lovely people who are already followers will also go in the running.)

  1. Well I for one would love to win one of your beautiful books! I'm really enjoying your blog, so many beautiful images, and I'm finding your suggestions for Paris really interesting too, as I'll be going there next March.

  3. You may count me as a follower and a kindred spirit.
I would be ecstatic to win one of your books for your library of design. I would also be over the moon to partner with someone like you on a book. How fun would it be to have a library of bloggers.
Blogging has literally added so much to my life.
Each day, a sparkly comment or an e-mail connects me to many who aspire to dream and to live a little closer to heaven on earth.
    Thank-you for a wonderfully generous gift-away.

  4. Hi Heide and DesignChic.
Thank you for your kind comments. And for following The Library. I'm thrilled that The Library has such lovely new members. I shall put you in the draw for the prize.
And Heide, I love the image you've chosen. Did you know someone found that iconic dress Dovima is wearing in a secondhand store in Melbourne? I heard the story from the wife of a famous fashion photographer. I'm not sure if it's entirely true but I want to believe her. The dress was the first evening dress designed for Christian Dior by his new assistant, Yves Saint-Laurent.
Best wishes to both of you. Janelle

  5. Hi Patricia,
Thank you for your kind comment. I've loved your blog, pvedesign, for years. It would be a delight to do a book with you. Perhaps you could do the illos for a Chanel book that's currently in pre-production? (As mine are so dreadful!)
As for the library of bloggers you mentioned... well, you are very insightful Ms van Essche. I am actually going to change this blog next year. It will be less of a personal blog and more of a library featuring contributions by the world's most interesting designers, photographers, architects, writers and bloggers. A little like The Huffington Post, only tailored more towards creative professionals. It will be called A Library of Design. I do hope you will consider being part of it.
    Warmest regards, Janelle McCulloch

  6. I have only recently discovered your blog and thoroughly enjoy reading it. As mother of two French obsessed girls I have to leave a comment on the off chance. Of course should I be lucky enough to win, any book will have to be thoroughly read by me before any re-gifting goes on. Design, gardening and France - all of my favourite things. Love Audrey Hepburn!

Thank you for your note, and I shall definitely put you in the draw for a book. I love design, gardens and France too (although I adore New York as well).
I do hope you enjoy this site. It's lovely to receive comments from such nice readers!
